For a moment I started to have doubts about my choice. I purchased a lovely soft wool velvet in a very bold colour. Well, multiple bold colours even. Today I was going to start drawing, but I had some second thoughts about the fabric. Isn't it too bold? Too bright? Too.. colourful?

Then I browsed a bit online. I looked at all kinds of coats. And I realized that especially the coloured coats drew my attention. I love those, the colours, the boldness! So I decided to go for it: The next project will be a bold coloured coat for me.

    I am intrigued by the color/s you have...
    It's funny, the coat I'm making now was going to be a very bold tomato red, but I just couldn't find the right color in the right wool. So I chose the charcoal and the rust. Only a few weeks ago, I finally found some amazing red wool, but it was so bright you almost need to wear sunglasses, so I was wondering why I originally wanted something so full-on.

    And then... I saw a lady wearing a coat in almost the same shade... and it looked incredible!! I think that I am used to darker shades, less bold colors, but it might be time to step out of the comfort zone and make a real winning piece.

    And when you have so many dark things to wear with it, it makes it even more spectacular! Just like in those images above. Yes, I think bold is beautiful :)
